List of doctors and health professions register

There are public registers for health professions. They provide information about professional authorisation.

List of doctors
Certain data in the list of doctors kept by the Austrian Medical Chamber must be made public and available online (§ 27 ÄrzteG 1998).
Health professions register
For nursing and allied health professions, part of the register data is public, such as name, professional title and professional seat (§ 6(4) GBRG).
Personal data
Medical practices are mostly solo practices and therefore natural persons. A company export contains no health data, but a doctor’s professional title is personal data.

Not in the export

  • health insurance contracts and private practice status
  • specialty in detail where the source does not name it
  • number of beds or treatment places
  • health data of any kind
  • private contact details of staff

These 15 columns are included.

Practice, care or wellness: three target groups in one industry

The industry links very different businesses. A practice software vendor needs 86.2, a care supplies dealer 87 and 88, a cosmetics wholesaler 96.02. Name the group in your request, not just the industry.

ÖNACE only roughly distinguishes medical specialties (for example dentistry or orthopaedics). A finer selection depends on whether the source names the specialty.

Marketing emails and sales calls to practices require prior consent (§ 174 TKG 2021). Letters are usual for product information.
